Colbeck Mews is a charming residential mews situated between Courtfield Road and Harrington Gardens in South Kensington, just a short walk from Gloucester Road Underground station. Dating back to the 1860s, Colbeck Mews is believed to have been named after the Reverend William Colbeck, a prominent Kensington landowner, with the name officially adopted in 1875. The mews retains much of its historic character, including its original entrance arch at one end, creating an attractive and distinctive setting.

Originally built as stable and coach house accommodation for the grand Victorian houses of Harrington Gardens and Courtfield Road, Colbeck Mews has since been converted into highly desirable residential homes. The mews also has a place in popular culture, having been used as the location for the gatefold sleeve photograph of Rod Stewart’s 1970 album Gasoline Alley.
