Lurot Brand’s staff members were bursting with pride on the evening of Tuesday 21st November, when our fantastic founder Antoine Lurot collected his Lifetime Achievement Award from the London Magazine Club.
It was a key moment in Lurot Brand’s long and fascinating history as a specialist estate agent selling, letting and managing London mews properties.
The London Magazine is a monthly glossy magazine for the capital, focusing on people, events, style, beauty and property news, with a circulation of approximately 73,000 readers. It is sold on newsstands in high profile London department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges as well as distributed by postcode to households in prime central areas. The London Magazine Club Awards were recently introduced to reward the outstanding contribution of Central London estate agents to the capital’s economy, to charity and to the industry.
At the inaugural award ceremony held at the Philip Mould & Co gallery in Pall Mall last month, Antoine received the Lifetime Achievement Award (Judges’ award), which recognises a lifetime’s services to prime London estate agency and is intended for an industry leader who has made an outstanding contribution to the sector. In making the award, judges focused on Antoine’s role as an innovator in the London property world, as he was the first estate agent to introduce floor plans and to price residential property by the square foot. He was also one of three founding directors of CLEA (Central London Estate Agents) and Lurot Brand was one of 21 firms that founded ARLA (Association of Residential Agents).
Award Judge and London Magazine editor Anne Cuthbertson described Antoine as a “Game changer”, going on to say: “He demonstrates the finest qualities of the boutique agent – the expertise, personality and people-first approach. By specialising in one property type, he has become the go–to guardian of London’s historic mewses.”
We are understandably proud of the brand that Antoine has created and grateful for this award, which crowns Lurot Brand’s achievements – championing and promoting London’s extraordinary mews heritage for over forty years.
