Will your mews win this year’s Mews in Bloom Competition?

There is something quietly magical about London’s mews. Tucked away behind grand terraces and busy high streets, these charming lanes offer a glimpse of community, character and creativity that is uniquely their own. In 2026, Mews in Bloom returns with a simple but inspiring invitation – to make our mews greener, brighter and more beautiful than ever before.
Mews in Bloom 2026
Whether you have a window box, a courtyard garden, a doorstep pot or a climbing rose framing your front door, every contribution matters. Mews in Bloom is not about perfection or prize-winning horticulture – it is about collective effort, neighbourly spirit and the shared joy of transforming the spaces we live in.

A celebration of small spaces
One of the joys of mews living is the opportunity to create something special in even the smallest of spaces. A row of terracotta pots, a cascade of trailing flowers from a window sill, or a carefully tended herb garden can completely change the feel of a street. When each home adds its own touch, the whole mews becomes a living, breathing garden.
This year, we encourage residents to think creatively. Mix colours and textures, experiment with seasonal planting and embrace both classic and contemporary styles. From traditional English blooms to more modern, drought-tolerant arrangements, there is room for every interpretation.

Stronger together
While individual efforts are at the heart of Mews in Bloom, the real magic happens when neighbours come together. A coordinated approach – shared colour themes, communal planting areas, or even a simple agreement to refresh pots and planters at the same time – can elevate an entire street.
Why not organise a planting day with your neighbours? Swap cuttings, share advice, or simply lend a hand. These small acts of collaboration not only enhance the appearance of your mews but also strengthen the sense of community that makes these streets so special.

A chance to win – and give back
As part of Mews in Bloom 2026, a distinguished judge will visit and assess the entries in participating mews streets, looking for creativity, effort and that all-important sense of community spirit.
The winning mews will receive a £1,000 prize to donate to a charity of their choice – a chance not only to celebrate your shared achievement but also to give back to a cause that matters to your community. In addition, the winners will be awarded a beautiful gold plaque to proudly display within their mews, marking their success and inspiring others for years to come.

Would you like to take part in Mews in Bloom 2026? Then send us an email to mewsinbloom@lurotbrand.co.uk with your name, mews street, a picture of your mews and the location on the street that you and your neighbours have arranged for the winning plaque to be placed, if of course your mews wins. Good luck!
