Sydney Mews, South Kensington, London, SW3
Sydney Mews is a private, part-cobbled mews in the heart of Chelsea, SW3, forming a large U-shaped layout with neighbouring Sydney Close. Both can be accessed from Fulham Road, close to its junction with Sydney Street, while a pedestrian passage connects the two mews. The street contains a mixture of Late Georgian and Victorian terraces, with much of the existing architecture dating from between approximately 1840 and 1880. Originally built to provide stable and coach-house accommodation for the larger properties on the surrounding streets, Sydney Mews has since evolved into a highly desirable residential setting.
Sydney Mews is exceptionally well placed for the amenities of Chelsea, South Kensington and Knightsbridge, with the shops, boutiques, cafés and restaurants of Fulham Road and the King’s Road just moments away. South Kensington Underground Station is approximately a five-minute walk, while Sloane Square is also conveniently accessible, providing District, Circle and Piccadilly line connections across London. The area is renowned for its excellent schools and world-class museums, while the Thames Embankment offers attractive riverside walks within easy reach. Despite its proximity to some of central London’s busiest and most fashionable destinations, Sydney Mews retains a peaceful atmosphere, making it an appealing and secluded Chelsea address.
