Old Manor Yard, Earls Court, London, SW5
Old Manor Yard is a quiet, private gated mews in Earl’s Court, SW5, tucked away just off Earl’s Court Road. The development takes its name from the historic Earl’s Court Manor House, on the site of which the mews was laid out during the late 19th century. Originally constructed between 1874 and 1878 as stable and coach-house accommodation serving properties on Penywern Road, the mews was later redeveloped in the 1960s, creating the attractive two-storey residential houses seen today. Partly cobbled and arranged as a peaceful cul-de-sac, Old Manor Yard provides a secluded setting despite its central west London location.
The excellent amenities of Earl’s Court are immediately accessible, with Earl’s Court Underground Station close by offering District and Piccadilly line services. West Brompton and Gloucester Road stations are also within convenient walking distance, providing additional transport links across London. Earl’s Court Road is lined with a varied selection of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs, while the wider neighbourhoods of South Kensington and Chelsea offer an extensive choice of dining, culture and leisure. The King’s Road and Fulham Road are easily reached, while the open green spaces of Holland Park provide a welcome retreat nearby, making Old Manor Yard particularly well placed for enjoying both the convenience and character of west London.
