Catherine Wheel Yard, St James’s, Westminster, SW1A

Catherine Wheel Yard is a secure private and modern courtyard adjoining Spencer House situated off the lower end of St. James’s Street with both Green Park and St. James’s Park nearby.

From about 1680 the passage was called Catherine Wheel Yard, taking its name from a tavern which stood at the east end of the north side.
