Cresswell Place, The Boltons, Chelsea, London, SW10

Cresswell Place is a cobbled mews that runs parallel to the eastern side of The Boltons and as such falls within The Boltons Conservation Area. The mews is made up of beautiful period houses including a double fronted mews house that was lovingly converted in the late 1920s from its original purpose as a stables for one of the big Drayton Gardens houses, into the country style cottage that it is today by its famous ‘Blue Plaqued’ previous owner, Agatha Christie.

The old image of cheap bedsits and hotels has now been replaced by smart, classy conversions. Doriane Lorian who presents the When in France programme on BBC1 and Radio4 lives in Cresswell Place and Agatha Christie once lived in the mews as well.”
